next stop: Alviano Station

--

In my honest opinion, one of the best places in central Italy, for bird-watching and wildlife photography: the Naturalistic Oasis Alviano Lake, also know as Alviano Station (because of the name of the little town where is located).

These are a few shots taken over the past few years.

Dendrocopos major (Linnaeus, 1758) / Great spotted woodpecker / Picchio rosso maggiore
Egretta garzetta (Linnaeus, 1766) / Little egret / Garzetta
Parus major (Linnaeus, 1758) / Great tit / Cinciallegra
Cyanistes caeruleus (Linnaeus, 1758)/ Eurasian blue tit/ Cinciarella
Sitta europaea (Linnaeus, 1758) / Eurasian nuthatch / Picchio muratore
Ardea cinerea (Linnaeus, 1758) / Grey heron / Airone cenerino

happens in the lake…

Cygnus olor (Gmelin, 1789) / Mute swan / Cigno reale
Coccothraustes coccothraustes (Linnaeus, 1758) / Hawfinch / Frosone comune
Spinus spinus (Linnaeus, 1758) / Lucherino / Eurasian siskin
